Function
Large wide mouthed , narrow based, flared bowls. Could have been used for a number of purposes but a considerable number have burnt deposits on the outside and could have been used to make cream (Vince 1984).
Medieval (later 15th to 17th century)

Notes
These bowls come in a variety of sizes, the largest recorded having a diameter of almost a metre. Bowls of this type were found at the kiln site in Hanley Swan (Hurst 1994).
