These vessels are very similar to form 55.3 except they have spouts. Sherds are usually sooted and smoked blackened indicating that the jars were used for cooking over an open fire.

Notes
The diameter of these vessels (when it can be measured) comes at the smaller end of the cooking pot range (180-200mm).Only a few of these jars have been identified but their similarity to form 55.3 may mean that they are under-represented in published reports.
