Function
Used to catch juices from roasting meat. These vessels have distinctive soot deposits on the one long side which was nearest the flames with the handle on the opposite side, indicating this side to have been in direct contact with an open fire.
General distribution
Dripping dishes of this fabric type only occur in small quantity in assemblages and don't appear to have been widely distributed outside of Worcester itself.
