Soft fired fabric with inclusions of red-brown iron ore (<0.6mm), quartz (<0.2mm) and sparse limestone (0.2-0.5mm). The trituration grits are small, rounded and sub-angular grey and white flint and quartz fragments, rare red-brown and blackish ore.
Off-white with a pink core.
Pas-de-Calais, Gallia Belgica, FRANCE
A considerable trade of this fabric to Britain occured at the end of the 1st century (Hartley 1977, 12-13). Locally, sherds of this fabric were found at Alcester (Booth 1994, 133), Droitwich (Rees 1992, 56) and Worcester on the sites at Sidbury (Evans 1992, 51, fig.26, no.9) and Deansway (Bryant and Evans 2001, 47).
Roman (1st century AD)
Probably produced between c.AD 65-100 (Hartley 1973, 40).
