Hard fabric with a rough feel containing abundant well-sorted quartz (<0.5mm), frequent mica and occasional poorly-sorted micaceous sandstone (<1.0mm).
Reddish orange with a dark grey core.
Patchy green lead glaze, Stabbed and incised decoration.
Unlocated, near Evesham, WORCESTERSHIRE
No kilns have so far been identified but the micaceous sandstone inclusions and distribution of this ware type indicate a local source in the vicinity of Evesham.
Medieval (13th - 14th century)
To date, only jugs have been in this fabric type (Bryant 2003).
